Teatown Lake Reservation is a nonprofit membership organization that operates a nature preserve and education center. Teatown's First Thursday's program is a monthly environmental discussion group which shares in the exploration of environmental issues within and beyond Teatown's borders. As part of this program, Teatown’s Executive Director Fred Koontz, Ph.D. asked V.O. Tech to speak to members and the public about the benefits of using vegetable oil as a fuel in diesel engines and how this nature-friendly fuel can provide a sustainable energy choice in the Hudson Hills and Highlands, and beyond.

V.O. Tech is proud to co-sponsor Greasestock 2007, one of the largest gatherings of vegetable oil powered vehicles in the northeast. Now in its 4th year, the event was held May 6th, 2007, on the grounds of Peter Pratt’s, a rustic 300 year old inn located just 25 miles north of NY City in scenic Yorktown Heights, NY. There were all kinds of veg. oil powered vehicles that drove in from near and from as far away as Illinois and Michegan. In 2007, Greasestock expanded to include a variety of alternative fuel exhibits including solar power, home heating with SVO and more. Click here for the official flyer. We would like to extend a thank you to all who attended and hope to see you next year!

The purpose of Greenburgh's fair is to provide the public with information on energy saving tips that can help reduce global warming. This fair included energy-saving exhibitors for at home and in transportation as well as renewable energy, green building technology, sustainable food and other "green" choices for sustainable living. V.O. Tech's exhibit assisted in helping raise public awareness regarding the use of vegetable oil (a renewable resource) and how it is now being used as an alternative fuel.
